Seems like I’ve finally got a chance to start writing early! 🙂 What do you think of the new Template? It’s a bit confusing at first, because the header image is so deep – the Template says that the Header Image should be 2000 x 900 (pixels) and I’m just wondering what would happen if I made it a little smaller, like f’rinstance 2000 x 750! I might experiment with that a little later, and see what happens… I’m actually just a little put out with it – when you try out a new Template, you can check out all sorts of things, and that’s usually enough, but sometimes the creator of the Template allows little things to… slip through the cracks, so to speak. From this page, the main Post Page, if I want to go and have a look at a Recipe I’d just put up, I’d go to “Recipes…” where a little drop-down menu appears, telling me what recipes there are. Fine. It does that. But to actually go to one of the recipes in the drop-down menu, it seems that in “real-time” – as opposed to “testing-Template-time” – I have to click on “Recipes” first, and only then can I actually access the individual recipes from the drop-down menu! How bloody stupid is that! Not to mention damn-well infuriating, because I just spent $$ buying this Template! The other thing that’s niggling me a bit, having spent that much money on it, is that I can’t seem to be able to get back here to the main “Posts” page from anywhere else (read: from the “Recipes…” Page!) – but that’s probably just because I’m holding my mouth the wrong way or something, because I have had this problem before, with other Templates… Anyway, for what it’s worth, this is the new Template, and I’ll be using it for the next “$$”-worth of days, so get used to it! 😉 It did tick all my other boxes though, and believe me – there are quite a lot of them!
You’re probably all wondering how come I’m starting to write so early today, because didn’t I just say last night that my very favourite eldest daughter was going to be here today, and that we’d probably be out in the lounge room watching whatever, until it was time for Julian to drop her back home? Well, yes, I did indeed say that – and she was supposed to have been over today, but she rang up early this morning, begging a Rain Check – with the most “original” and unusual reason for doing so that I think I’ve ever heard – however, for privacy reasons, I can’t tell you what that reason was, but I can tell you all that it finally proves, beyond any possible shadow of reasonable doubt, that she really is my daughter, and not a changeling! So instead of settling down to watch a day of “Orphan Black”, “The 100”, and all those other ones that we like, I settled down to drag poor Sylvänas up to level 100 by her bootstraps! And, I did just that! She finally dinged 100 just before noon today, “and there was great jubilation in the country, and rejoicing, and dancing in the streets and on tabletops” – well, there wasn’t really, I just thought that sounded good – in actual fact, there was more of a pent-up sigh of relief when she dinged 100! I’d had to drag poor old Julian in off the kitchen bench, where he’d been preparing our slow-cooked dinner for tonight, to do a quest for me, coz there was no way in the Seven Hills of Rome that I was going to be able to do it! It was one of those ghastly “vehicle” quests, where you have to kill “X” number of whatevers by pressing a couple of buttons on a virtual dashboard that you’re suddenly thrust behind – and I totally, miserably, and completely suck at those sorts of quests! I’m even worse at them than I am at Jumping quests, which Julian also has to do for me. If it’s shooting at things and killing them, then fine! I’m the Hunter for you – but when it comes to leaping gaily from rock, to rock, to rock, or figuring out which button to push when, and how to target things while you’re madly deciding whether to push the button, or try and jump out of the way – nah! I’m hopeless! And you know, even with Julian completing that quest for me, it still took ages, because it was quite difficult (I thought, anyway!) That was in the Spires of Arak, and I hope I never have to go back there again (except to look for treasure, of course! 😉 ) Anyway, so once I’d reached level 100, I got myself back to my Garrison as quickly as possible, where I proceeded to loot the Guild Bank so that I could upgrade all my Garrison Buildings! 🙂 Then I had to go back to the ruddy Spires of Arak again because there was a quest I had to do in order to get my Salvage Yard! But that was easy enough, and fairly quickly done, and I’m very happy to say that Sylvänas is now happily ensconced in her brand new, level 2 Inn, where she has a somewhat lumpy bed to sleep in, and where she’s enjoying a well-earned rest from her endeavours! And now I have to prepare Coppertop for her big move! I went and checked her out again this afternoon – she’s the current Guild Mistress, and when she moves from Azuremyst to Quel’Dorei, she’ll be taking the Guild, and the Guild Bank, with her. This will leave the rest of the Horde Guild Members without a Guild, or a Guild Bank – which I really didn’t want to do… but…. (there’s always a “but”, isn’t there! 😉 ) Once upon a time, many, many years ago, one of my Horde girls on Quel’Dorei, whose name is Autumntzun (pronounced “Autumn t’zun”) was given – yes, given! a Guild… with a Guild Bank, and two Guild Bank Vaults! But we already had a Horde Guild, with a Guild Bank and a couple of Bank Vaults – so Autumntzun just sat on the Guild she’d been given, and twiddled her thumbs for a couple of years while I played Rift… Anyway, the long and short of it is – Coppertop and Jemima will migrate over to Quel’Dorei from Azuremyst, bringing the Azuremyst Horde Guild, and Guild Bank, with them. Meanwhile, back on Quel’Dorei, Autumntzun will pack up her bags, her Guild (she’s the only one left in it!) and her Guild Bank, and migrate over to Azuremyst, where all the now Guild-less characters who’d been in Coppertop’s Guild, will join the new Guild that Autumntzun’s so thoughtfully brought with her – so all of them will still have a Guild, and a Guild Bank, and Coppertop and Jemima will have
escaped… err… successfully whisked a reasonably financially well-off Guild and Guild Bank away from Azuremyst! 🙂 I’ll get onto all of that either tonight, or tomorrow…
And now for the good bits! 😉
Food stuffz: After my somewhat carbohydrate-laden lunch yesterday, I had a small bowl of pasta for dinner – with plain but very tasty tomato sauce, and a sprinkling of finely grated parmesan cheese. For dessert I let the Corella pears ripen for another 24 hours and had a small bowl of Coles-brand, delicious, very low-calorie Rice Pudding instead, with one of my special Mother’s Day cookies that my very favourite youngest daughter made for me. Lunch today was pretty much a reprise of yesterday’s lunch – with a cheesy-topped roll split in half and “buttered” with that most excellent of butter substitutes, basil-pesto hummus, which was followed by another of those yummy Baker’s Delight Fruit and (I think!) white chocolate scones (Julian put proper butter in that one, I’m glad to say – because I don’t really think that basil-pesto hummus would go all that wonderfully with fruit and white chocolate!) When Julian went out yesterday to get something for our lunch – and to do a bit of other shopping – he forgot that the main reason he was up at the shops was to buy something for lunch, because there was nothing here to have, and that therefore it might have been a good-ish idea to get something for Friday’s lunch as well, while he was at the shops! So… come lunchtime, Julian headed off back to the shops – and brought back pretty much a reprise of yesterday’s lunch. Tonight we’re having slow-cooked corned silverside for dinner – always enjoyable, and very good value for money, as there’s always enough left over for several days-worth of sandwiches! With that we’ll be having plain boiled potatoes – not mashed, just boiled, with a bit of plain Greek low-fat yoghurt; our usual half a tomato, and steamed green beans. For dessert I’ll be having one of my Corella pears – I think they should have ripened up enough by now – and one of my special Mother’s Day cookies.
Weigh-in this morning. I dunno – my weight is a mystery! Although I did eat a lot of carbs both yesterday and today, so I suppose I shouldn’t be too surprised, should I! Anyway, I did go up again today – from 63.6kg to 64.0kg – four points. And after today’s lunch, I suppose I’ll go up again tomorrow – but I guess we’ll just have to weight and sea…
And that brings me to tomorrow! I’m not quite sure what’s happening tomorrow – more of the same, I suppose! Hopefully we’ll be able to work on Coppertop and Jemima – or at least work on getting them both over to Quel’Dorei, anyway. Flipper, Auric and Dapple are all very well and enjoying their disparate lifestyles, Julian went out and did a bit of weeding in the veggie beds this afternoon, and some preparatory work for our autumnal plating – once we can decide on what to plant, that is! I’ve looked in the “How to Grow” bible that Kate and Terry loaned us, and all I could find were “leafy greens”, which I really shouldn’t be having very much of – but… maybe some broad beans? I think I’ll let Julian have a look in the book and make the final decision… and really, once again that’s about it from me for this evening! Drop in again tomorrow night and see what’s been going on in our neck of the woods – will my weight have zoomed right back up again, or will it think “I can’t be bothered!” and stayed down! And will Coppertop and Jemima have moved “overseas”, from cool and hazy Azuremyst, to the hotter and more humid climes of Quel’Dorei? Never fear, tomorrow night all will be revealed…. 🙂 Until then though, do try extra hard to bee good, remember, maybe who we are isn’t so much about what we do, but rather what we’re capable of when we least expect it, and don’t forget to always drive carefully, to keep warm and dry on these changeable autumn days, and to look after yourselves… but most importantly, please don’t forget to stay safe! 🙂 ciao, all! 🙂
